Jessica Jones Showrunner Quits Series for 8-Figure Warner Bros. TV Deal

In a move, many will find fairly shocking Jessica Jones series creator and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg is leaving after season three. Rosenberg will finish up the final season before she goes on to a better deal under Warner Bros. Television. Apparently, they outbid Netflix and managed to get her to work on various projects for the company with an eight-figure deal.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Rosenberg moving from Netflix to Warner Bros. TV was due to the showrunner wanting to do something different. Her projects for Warner Bros. TV is not yet known since she is still focused on finishing Jessica Jones season three, which is set to premiere next year.

Netflix will have to replace Rosenberg with a new showrunner, assuming that the series gets renewed for a fourth season. If it does, Rosenberg will still get credit for creating the show and will be listed as an Executive Producer. Rosenberg is probably why the series has been very consistent, even with the second season's pacing problems.

Just to set the record straight, Rosenberg is the creator of the show and not the actual character. Brian Michael Bendis and David Gaydos are the ones who made the character for Marvel comics.

Jessica Jones can be streamed right now on Netflix.
