Jennifer Lopez had a big Pretty Woman moment when she was reportedly denied entry to a Chanel store at Istinye Park, one of Istanbul’s upscale shopping malls in Turkey.
But instead of pushing her way into the store or making a scene, Lopez had a surprising reaction during the incident.
The global pop icon was in Istanbul for her Up All Night: Live in 2025 summer tour on August 5.
Why Was Jennifer Lopez Denied Entry to Chanel?
A day before her concert, Turkiye Today reported that Lopez visited a Chanel store at Istinye Park but was stopped from entering by a security guard because the store was full. The guard reportedly also failed to recognize her.
Despite being a diva herself, the A-list star just let it slide.
“Okay, no problem,” she allegedly said and walked away without any reaction.
Another local news outlet reported that a store staff later approached her and invited her to enter the store, but Lopez declined.
Instead, she spent about three hours browsing high-end fashion at neighboring stores, Celine and Beymen, and even spent tens of thousands of dollars.

Why was Jennifer Lopez in Turkey?
Lopez went to Turkey to continue the Istanbul leg of her Up All Night tour, which would conclude in Sardinia, Italy, on August 10.
This is the first time the singer-songwriter has hit the road again after canceling her planned This Is Me… Live concerts in 2024.
At the time, Lopez took a hiatus to spend time with her “children, family, and close friends.” She shares 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” she wrote in a May 2024 issue of her On The JLo newsletter. “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much.”
The cancellation also came a month before she filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Ben Affleck, after much speculation. The former couple settled the proceedings in February 2025.
“I think my whole life I’ve just been trying to say I’m good enough, until where I am now, when I know. I’m giving myself credit. I’m telling that little girl that grew up in the Bronx, ‘You’ve done really good for yourself.’ I didn’t do that for so many years,” she told Interview magazine . “And now I think, with everything that’s happened in my life and in my relationships and even in my career, it’s like, give yourself a bit of comfort and love. We’ve been through a lot of things that nobody knows about, and you’ve persevered and you refuse to give up and to let it get you down.”
Despite everything that had happened, Lopez was thankful for her kids and her projects, which helped her keep her self-esteem.
