Wonder Woman 1984 is coming out later this year and fans are pretty hyped about it, due to the success of the first film. The fact that we're getting Patty Jenkins again as a director is also nice since her direction is partly why the first film was such a success. As we wait for the next movie that stars Gal Gadot, Friends star Jennifer Anniston is sad that she didn't get to play this iconic character.
Speaking with Variety, Anniston told the press that she "waited too long" to play the character. Despite that, the actress is pretty happy with what she's doing these days, recently winning a SAG Award for Female Actor in a Drama Series for her work in The Morning Show. We're glad to see her succeed in other platforms.
"I wanted to be Wonder Woman, but I waited too long. I don't know, I have a lot to do. I honestly feel like I'm kicking into a creative stride that I discovered a new love of this in a new way that I didn't know that I had before. So, I almost have new eyes that I'm seeing what I do as an actor through. So, I now want to approach…I want to do more comedies though, God. I'm ready to have some laughter, that was some heavy stuff."
Considering how she had some harsh words about Marvel movies last year, we are a bit surprised to see her talk about a love for this DC character. Then again, she could just be a DC fan and not like any of the characters from Marvel. Believe it or not, people like this exist. That or she's just kidding around, we may never know.
Wonder Woman 1984 is coming out later this year, on June 5.
