Black Canary has been prominent in animated shows, television series, and video games, which is why when the Birds of Prey movie was initially announced, fans got really hyped up to finally see the character on the big screen. Jurnee Smollett-Bell has been receiving lots of love from fans for her version of Black Canary so far, and it looks like they're not the only ones looking forward to it.

Gail Simone, Birds of Prey comic book writer, took to Twitter to express her desire to see a Birds of Prey spin-off with Black Canary. It looks like she would want to write it based on Smollett-Bell as well, along with Huntress, Savant, and Creote. You can check it out below.

With Huntress, Savant, and Creote included in her vision, it seems like Simone is looking to write this spin-off movie based on her own run of the Birds of Prey comic. Simone added Huntress to her series in 2003, while Savant and Creote were some of the villains she first introduced.

For now, there's no telling if there would be a Birds of Prey spin-off film planned in the near future. Regardless, Simone is already on board to write it, and fans would definitely want to see that movie. In the meantime, fans are already anticipating the Birds of Prey film and they can't wait to see the team in action.

Aside from Smollett-Bell, the Birds of Prey cast also includes Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Rosie Perez as Renne Montoya, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, and Ewan McGregor as Black Mask.
