Jay and Silent Bob Reboot's Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes Revisit Iconic Dogma Landmark

There are some places that just need to be revisited. When Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes dropped by Pittsburgh on the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Roadshow, they had to take a pitstop at an iconic landmark that was immortalized in the film Dogma.

Smith shared a series of photos from their trip to Pittsburgh where he revealed that they made it back to the church in the East Liberty neighborhood. Make sure to swipe through the post to see all the images.

According to Smith, the area is currently condemned. Nevertheless, he looked back at all the fond memories they had while filming Dogma at the church.

"@benaffleck flew here. @alanis did a handstand here. #GeorgeCarlin revealed the #buddychrist on these steps. #AlanRickman stepped out of these doors," Smith wrote.

The church was seen several times throughout the film but its standout scene is undoubtedly when Cardinal Ignatius Glick (played by George Carlin, no less) unveiled the Buddy Christ because the crucifix image is just too depressing. You can watch the whole scene below.

It's disappointing to know that the landmark is currently condemned but Smith is hopeful that it will find a new purpose. "Wouldn't it make a great brew-and-view or performance space? Anybody in the area wanna get that going, I'm happy to help," he wrote. We wouldn't be surprised if the place gets repurposed in honor of the 1999 film.

Smith and Mewes are currently on tour and are expected to continue across the country for the rest of the year.
