Jason Momoa Discusses How Filming Aquaman Was Different From Justice League

DC's film presence is pretty minor this year, with only Aquaman coming out this December. Still, that might not be a bad thing since fans and the executives at Warner Bros. are hoping that this film succeeds where Justice League didn't. It's too early to say if the movie will replicate the success of Wonder Woman but that seems to be the goal thus far.

It seems like lead star Jason Momoa feels that burden, as he recently described the differences between shooting Justice League and his solo film to MTV. Momoa feels that each star in Justice League had an equal amount of weight on their shoulders while in Aquaman, the pressure is all his.

"Justice League was like college. I'm not really sure what Aquaman was, it's just all on my shoulders. I had a great time. I think in Justice League, you had five other characters around you suffering equally the same, so it was kind of fun to endure that. And then, you know, it got me ready to do my solo movie which was challenging and tough and hard and super satisfying."

He points out how daunting the task is but it seems like the former Game of Thrones actor is up to the challenge. While he wasn't developed much in Justice League, there was enough time to make him interesting, at the least. Most fans know that a lot of his screen time was cut from the final version of Justice League, so his solo film will hopefully do the character justice.

Aquaman will hit theaters this year, on December 20. Here's hoping it helps DC out.
