Jonathan Majors' casting as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe raised quite a few eyebrows within the fandom when it was first reported. Considering the villain's ties to the Fantastic Four's defacto leader Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, casting a black actor to play Kang came as a huge shocker to longtime followers of the comics. This of course led to the speculation that Marvel Studios is casting a person of color for the role of Richards to pretty much complement Majors' casting.
Despite the fact that the MCU's Fantastic Four reboot has been confirmed to close out Phase Four, Kevin Feige and his crew seem to be in no rush to start working on the project which will mark the grand debut of the First Family to the already crazy billion-dollar franchise.

However, Feige may have his work already cut out for him as an iconic Star Wars actor is volunteering to become Mister Fantastic in the MCU. Ahmed Best, who is best (no pun intended) known for voicing Jar Jar Binks in Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace recently took to Twitter to express his genuine desire to become part of the exciting reboot project. After film critic Zaki Hasan pointed out the possibility of the studio casting a black actor to play Redd, Ahmed simply said: "Officially throwing my hat in that ring."
Honestly, I have mixed feelings about Reed potentially being portrayed by a person of color in the franchise simply because I've gotten used to him being presented as a caucasian in the comics. But don't get me wrong, I'm definitely down to embrace changes within the MCU and I have complete faith that Marvel Studios knows what it's doing.
