Justice League was such a bomb that it forced the DCEU to suddenly take a hiatus to assess its direction, and Aquaman was supposed to be the movie to get the franchise back on its feet. With the release set for December, director James Wan announces that the movie has officially wrapped with post-production.

Check out his announcement:

With a lot of scenes usually taking place underwater, it's no secret that Aquaman must have been a massive undertaking when it came to CGI alone. Though the movie was set to come out December, we had only gotten the first teaser three months ago. When it comes to big blockbusters like this, usually we get the first teaser six months in advance. The fact that we got it late could be a testament to how much work went behind perfecting the effects.

Admittedly, I'm excited to get back on the DCEU horse. So far, Marvel has been kicking its ass with uber successful films like Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. While Venom may have also made a splash at the box office, everyone is waiting on Marvel's true rival that is DC to give us another box office spectacle.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, "Aquaman," starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.

Aquaman is set to hit theaters Dec. 21.
