James Gunn’s Suicide Squad 2 is Going Cosmic, Looking for a Female Alien Villain

Before James Gunn can get back on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, he has to work on the Suicide Squad sequel for the DCEU. We've been getting some small updates here and there, but some new info has come out on details on the movie's villain.

According to Revenge of the Fans, Gunn is actually going to space for the villain, and the movie is said to be looking for a "monstrous, alien femme fatale" as the primary antagonist for the film. The site says that the film is looking for a 20-30 year-old-actress to play the part, and they specifically write:

Gunn's looking for a monstrous femme fatale. A creature. A surly, muscular alien woman. The kind of character that'll require the heavy use of prosthetics. Like Killer Croc in David Ayer's Suicide Squad in 2016.

We don't know yet who could play the role, but if I were to cast someone, it would be Sofia Boutella from the Mummy films. She's already proven herself very versatile, playing villains for Kingsman and Mummy, but she can also pull off alien woman as she did so in Star Trek Beyond.

Then again, it's likely Gunn already has someone in mind. He did seem to enjoy working with Elizabeth Debicki in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but seeing as the film is looking for a ‘muscular' alien woman, I'd think Debicki would be a tad too skinny. Then again, she was a fantastic antagonist in The Man from UNCLE.

Hopefully we get some official updates soon as the film is said to be aiming for a late 2019 start.
