James Gunn Teases Ant-Man And The Wasp’s Relevance To Avengers 4 In His Short Review

Ant-Man and the Wasp might be a few days away from its North American release, but it looks like the Ant-Man sequel just had its global premiere with quite a number of Marvel stars and directors in attendance.

James Gunn was one of those who saw the film during its Los Angeles premiere on Monday Night, and it looks like the Guardians of the Galaxy director was more than charmed by Marvel's final film of the year.

Taking to Twitter, Gunn decided to open up about his thoughts after seeing Ant-Man and the Wasp on the big screen and the Marvel director had nothing but great things to say about the Ant-Man sequel.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp is everything you want it to be," Gunn wrote in his short review of the film. "Hilarious, sweet, moving, & wall-to-wall fun. Killer work @MrPeytonReed! And great performances by @EvangelineLilly, @hannahjk1 & of course @Dastmalchian. I loved it! (Pro tip: see it before Avengers 4!)"

Though the post seems to go on gushing about Ant-Man and the Wasp, that little tidbit at the very end of Gunn's tweet seems to hint at the role the film plays in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie. Taking place before the events of Avengers: Infinity War, it definitely makes sense that Ant-Man and the Wasp would help tease or tie in with Avengers 4. Looks like Ant-Man and the Wasp won't be just some sort of filler film while everyone waits for the conclusion to the Russo Brother's two-part Avengers movie event.

Ant-Man and the Wasp hits cinemas in North America on July 6.
