Ever since James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the DC franchise and served as the chairmen of DC Studios, a lot of fans have been anxiously waiting for their plans for the future of the franchise which is expected to last for several years, and whether they will do a reboot of what was already established.

Before the holiday break, they announced that they are developing a new Superman movie that will focus on his younger years and Henry Cavill will not be returning to the role despite his comeback just recently in Black Adam. It was the beginning of what was about to come regarding the DCU's future.

Recently, Gunn responded to a fan tweet that asked about Variety's recent report regarding the claim that Ezra Miller might remain as The Flash in the DCU. While he played coy about the actor's fate, he did confirm that they are set to make more announcements this month and their slate will last for 8 to 10 years.

"I don’t know what’s out there about Ezra but our slate is 8 to 10 years (but we will only be announcing some of it this month)," he wrote in the tweet.

There you go, not only do we have the confirmation that they will make more announcements about the DCU this month, but the slate is expected to last around 8 to 10 years which is in alignment with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav's previous comments regarding having a long-term plan for the franchise.

It is also similar to what Marvel Studios has been doing all over the years where they always have a slate planned for the next several years. However, as we have also seen, they can all still change due to several circumstances and the plan might just be temporary at the very least.

For now, all we can do is just sit back and wait regarding what their plans will be for the DCU franchise. A lot of fans have been patiently waiting for what Gunn and Safran have in store, especially with so much baggage that they have, and are also curious to see whether they will do a partial or full reboot.
