James Gunn Gives His Parents Cameo Role In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

James Gunn really likes having his family in his films. Aside from having his brother in both the original Guardians of the Galaxy and its sequel, it seems like the esteemed Marvel director also put in his parents in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

This may be a minor spoiler, but for those who haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in the cinema yet and would prefer to watch the film spoiler-free, we suggest that you head on out. We'll be discussing one of Gunn's family appearances in the film in this article and we understand if you'd want to discover it on your own.

Now, for those who've already seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, you'll probably remember a scene on Earth where the blue mass from Ego (Kurt Russell's) comes sweeping right across a small town in Missouri. While many run frightened by the moving blue mass, some people start gathering to take pictures right after it stops drowning the town. According to Comicbook, two of those people are Gunn's parents. Check them out in the photo below:

Though both don't really play a big role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, their appearance in the film shows how much Gunn likes to have his family involved in his work. Sean, his brother, has played the role of the Ravager Kragglin in both Guardians of the Galaxy movies and has also provided motion capture work for Bradley Cooper's Rocket Racoon.

Written and directed by Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell. The film is currently screening in cinemas.
