Chris Pratt's close friendship with the DC Studios co-CEO couldn't help but spark rumors that leaving the MCU's Star-Lord role could land him a different hero in another universe.

With DC fans still waiting for the official reboot of James Gunn and Peter Safran's DCU, there's a chance that Pratt may be a part of the soon-to-be-revealed roster joining their new world.

The rumor returned when Pratt was reported to have visited James Gunn's set of David Corenswet's Superman in June.

Well, given that the Guardians of the Galaxy star seems pretty much done with the Marvel franchise, here's what Gunn has to say from DC's end.

A fan approached him to ask whether DC is planning on casting Chris Pratt in a different role, "He's a close friend," was all Gunn replied, "We talk about it all the time."

The response remains vague, given that nothing has been confirmed yet.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie star Chris Pratt recently said that he would want to join the DC franchise on one condition: "If it could fit my schedule and it made sense, I would love it."

Pratt added that while he would love to reprise Star-Lord in MCU's Earth-616 sometime in the future, he would feel blessed to be in the DCU, as well: "If it's right and the fans would love it, I'd be more than happy to do it."

It is worth noting that the DC Studios co-CEO didn't confirm whether or not Pratt is leaving the MCU for DCU. But this does beg the question still. However, who's to say that Pratt couldn't pull a double duty?
