J. Jonah Jameson Featured in New Spider-Man PS4 Trailer

J. Jonah Jameson is probably one of the most beloved Spider-Man characters out there, but we haven't had a memorable iteration since J.K. Simmons in Spider-Man 3. As Insomniac tries to promote the release of their Spider-Man game, a new trailer features Jameson having a spirited argument about Spider-Man with Peter ‘Patterson'.

There's no indication on who did the voice for J.J. in this trailer, but the performance is no doubt influenced by J.K. Simmons performance. I wouldn't be surprised if J.J. is a regular character we run into the game. After all, we still have no idea what kind of job Peter Parker does in this game, and ‘taking pictures of something' is an easy source of quests and activities for whoever writes the story.

For now, I guess we'll just have to wait for the next actor to give us their take on J.J. A lot of speculation is going around right now that J.B. Smoove, who had just been cast in Spider-Man: Far from Home, is actually playing J. Jonah Jameson. Smoove is prolific for his fast-talking antics, and his name falls in the same pattern as J.K. Simmons—as in, both of their stage names are shortened, and they both start with "J."

Will we actually get to see J.J.'s face in the game? I guess we'll just have to wait and see to find out.

Spider-Man is a PS4 exclusive and comes out Sept. 7.
