IU is among the stars who dominate both the acting and music industry.

At 29, she has a ton of achievements and recognitions under her belt.

Now, she has been gaining praise and headlining various outlets for her performance in Broker.

IU, whose real name is Lee Ji Eun, headlined the drama film alongside veteran actor Song Kang Ho, as well as Kang Dong Won, Bae Doona and Lee Joo Young.

The Hirokazu Koreeda-directed film also Ecumenical Jury Award for Best Film and Best Actor through Song Kang Ho at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.

With the movie's success, IU was also lauded by her co-stars, specifically Song Kang Ho.

IU Reveals Factors That Keeps her Alive

Amid her success in acting and music, IU spoke about her thoughts on her career.

According to a report, the Hallyu star revealed the reason why she still kept going and continued her career in entertainment.

For the actress, she pointed out that "music and acting are what keep" her alive.

IU explained that she likes "the feeling of people who didn't know each other" but worked together with one goal, which she achieved in the entertainment world.

Despite having "lonely moments," working whether in drama or movie or producing songs, gives her a "sense of stability."

IU on Turning 30 and Celebrating 14 Year Anniversary Since Debut

As noted by the same outlet, IU is about to celebrate her 30th birthday and at the same time, her 14 years in the industry.

For the singer-actress, she mentioned that she is "satisfied" with her current life adding "my twenties felt longer. Now that I'm in my 30s, I feel a little more comfortable. I hope that days like these will continue in the future."

The 29-year-old star made her music debut in 2008 after appearing on Mnet M! Countdown with her debut single Lost Child.

However, two years after her debut, she finally got the recognition she deserved after scoring immense fame from her hit song Good Day, earning the moniker of "Nation's Little Sister."

Despite Kpop being filled with girl groups and boy bands, IU shined as a soloist and was praised for her unique vocals and stability.

From music, she transitioned into acting and landed the role of Kim Pil Sook in Dream High alongside Kim Soo Hyun, 2 PM's Taecyeon, Bae Suzy and more.

Since then, IU has starred in several hit Kdramas, including The Producers and the smash-hit series Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, and the 2019 Kdrama Hotel del Luna.


IU New Drama: Teams Up with Park Seo Joon in Dream

Aside from Broker's success, IU will headline another film alongside Park Seo Joon.

Dream is a drama sports-themed series which follows the story of a former professional soccer player named Yoon Hong Dae (Park Seo Joon), who was on disciplinary probation due to an incident.

He was forced to take a coaching career instead and would handle a group of people who were determined to join the Homeless World Cup.

Meanwhile, IU took on the role of producing director Lee So Min, who dreams of finding success through a documentary about Hong Dae's team
