IU Makes Generous Donations to 4 Foundations

To mark her special day this year, IU donated to four organizations to support different causes.

The Blueming hitmaker uploaded four certificates on Twitter, showing that she donated 250 million KRW, around $186,800, to four different foundations. The groups are the Korean Foundation for Support of the Senior Citizen in need (KFSSC), Korean Unwed Mothers Families Association (KUMFA), Heart to Heart Foundation, and The Happiness Foundation.

She donated 100 million KRW to the Heart to Heart Foundation to support children and families who are struggling with disabilities, diseases, and poverty. The three other foundations received 50 million KRW each.

IU made all the donations under the name IUAENA, a combination of her stage name IU and her fan club, UAENA.

"Things that I learned from UAENA, things that I felt through UAENA, and things that I received from UAENA will always be materials that get IU to move and practice [kindness]. I love you. Thank you so much for today as well," she wrote in the caption.

IU has been assisting people in need through her donations in the past few years since her debut. Earlier this month, she donated 100 million KRW to the Child Fund to support children in need. She made the donation exactly on Children's Day.

IU Bombarded With Plagiarism Accusations

Before her birthday, IU began dealing with plagiarism rumors as a complaint targeted six of her songs: The Red Shoes, Good Day, BBIBBI, pitiful, Boo, and Celebrity.

IU's agency, EDAM Entertainment, has since launched legal action to stop malicious rumors from spreading after it dismissed the claims that the singer plagiarized any of those songs.

Meanwhile, music producer and Mystic Story president Jo Young Chul and Han Sang Won, who composed Boo, have since addressed the rumors and called them malicious defamation.
