Doctor Cha is now JTBC’s fourth highest-rated Kdrama series after it beat Park Seo Joon’s Itaewon Class.
The ongoing series, which is now dominating JTBC and Netflix, stars Uhm Jung Hwa, Min Woo Hyuk, Kim Byung Chul, and Myung Se Bin. It tells the story of a housewife who resumes her medical career after 20 years, but she faces several issues while working on her dreams — including her husband’s infidelity.
Its first episode aired on April 15, and it has since set a new record in JTBC history.

Doctor Cha Beats Itaewon Class
One day before it marked the first month since its release, Doctor Cha dethroned Itaewon Class and became the fourth highest-rated show on JTBC.
Edaily cited the official report of Nielsen Korea on May 14, noting that the show reached its highest viewership rating yet with its latest episode on Sunday. The Kdrama series successfully recorded an average nationwide rating of 17.95 percent, maintaining its position as the No. 1 show across all channels.

Aside from beating Itaewon Class, the medical Kdrama series also surpassed the ratings set by the hit series The World of the Married, Reborn Rich, and SKY Castle.
Doctor Cha’s Saturday episode also reached an all-time high, scoring 15.6 percent.
Doctor Cha Ranks 1st on Most Buzzworthy Drama Rankings
For this week, Doctor Cha reclaimed its spot of most buzzworthy drama from Dr. Romantic 3.
The Good Data Corporation’s weekly list confirmed that Doctor Cha ranked first again, with Dr. Romantic 3, Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, The Good Bad Mother, and Pale Moon completing the top 5.
Meanwhile, My Perfect Stranger, The Real Has Come!, Family, Joseon Attorney, and Woman in a Veil appeared in the top 10.
Doctor Cha cast members also appeared on the list of the most buzzworthy cast members. Uhm Jung Hwa and Kim Byung Chul secured the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, while Min Woo Hyuk and Myung Se Bin were at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively.
