The canon series of Marvel's What If..? takes us to another universe where there exists an apocalyptic event science fiction has lodged on more than decades – flesh-eating monsters or the undead. As the Earth's mightiest heroes succumbed to the virus, those who remain would have to battle it out or find a cure for the zombies. Is there any? Is hope still possible?
Is There A Cure For The Zombies in Marvel's What If...? Episode 5
As the world became a deserted place in Marvel's What If..? Episode 5, What If.. Zombies?!, the flesh-eating monsters took over the rest of Earth in just a few days and when the Avengers were infected, none stood a chance, except a certain few who stuck together and who tried to look for a cure, whatever the reason is.
The survivors intercepted a message that a cure has been found and they traveled from New York to New Jersey for it. When they arrived, it was Vision who got away to both keep the zombies at bay, not even bothering that the fence got destroyed, and a cure, a way to reverse the process and have the zombies become human once more.
Since Vision was an android, the zombies didn't want to eat him. He found out that the mind stone can emit a sub-frequency keeping the zombies at bay as encephalopathy affects the brain, and Vision reversed the process by targeted exposure. To do this, they need the frequency to be broadcasted through a satellite strong enough to reach the corners of the Earth, something Wakanda has.

However, Vision's agenda is not lodged on saving the whole world, he intended it for Wanda, who got infected. But in the end, she was extremely strong that she rejects the sub-frequency. With that, he had to lure in survivors to feed her. One of which is T'Challa. Still, when he realized he was wrong, he let them go and took off the mind stone on his forehead causing his death.
Wanda got mad and they all had difficulties getting out. In the end, only Peter, Scott, and T'Challa remained, but another doom awaits as a zombie version of Thanos is waiting for them in Wakanda.
