What Is Call of the Night All About?
Call of the Night was one of the most visually appealing anime of Summer 2022. Despite its nighttime setting, the anime is extremely bright and vibrant, making it aesthetically attractive.
The characters are also likable, particularly Nazuna, who was voted as one of the best anime waifus during the summer season.
The anime follows Kou Yamori, a middle school insomniac who wishes to become a vampire like Nazuna Nanakusa.
Certain circumstances, however, prevent Kou from becoming a vampire.
Throughout Kou Yamori's journey, he encounters other vampires who know the truth about Nazuna Nanakusa.
Kou must then decide whether to continue pursuing an immortal life with Nazuna or go back to his boring human life. Will he be able to accompany Nazuna on her nightly adventures indefinitely?

Is the Call of the Night Manga Finished or Ongoing?
The Call of the Night manga is finally ending on January 10, 2024, with its 200th chapter, given there's no delay in publication. The announcement was made in the 51st issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine.
Since August 2019, the Call of the Night manga, written and illustrated by Kotoyama, has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday.
Aside from Call of the Night, Kotoyama is also known for his work on Dagashi Kashi, a slice-of-life and romantic comedy manga. You've probably noticed the similarity between the two manga illustrations.
So far, Call of the Night has released 17 manga volumes, with the 18th volume shipping on November 17, 2023.
The first volume was released on November 18, 2019. Meanwhile, its English print was released on April 13, 2021.
The good thing about Call of the Night is that its manga releases are consistent. New chapters are released weekly, usually on Wednesdays in Japan. It is usually released on Tuesdays in North America.
Call of the Night isn't your typical romance manga about the stages of a relationship.
The series focuses on the supernatural and psychology, with little to no romance development. Its slow pacing may turn you off, but don't let this affect your overall impression of the series.
Where to Read the Call of the Night Manga
The Call of the Night manga can be read on the VIZ website in addition to purchasing a physical copy. Volumes 1 through 8 are already available in English print as of writing.
Call of the Night Volume 9 came out digitally on September 13th. Paperback copies of Volume 9 will be available from most retailers.
