Lucasfilm had just dropped a new trailer for the final season of The Clone Wars, and wouldn't you know it, one of our favorite characters from Rebels actually makes a cameo.
During one of the scenes with the Jedi having a meeting, you can clearly see Jedi Master Depa Billaba in the roundtable, and beside her is her young padawan, Caleb Dume a.k.a. Kanan Jarrus. Check it:
We don't know if Kanan will eventually play an important part in the final season, but it is a pretty neat easter egg. His story during the Jedi Purge has actually been told in the comic form already, but I'm sure some fans would love to see it take place in the show.
With The Rise of Skywalker having completed the Skywalker Saga, it looks like Disney is looking to tie down one more loose end with The Clone Wars. Besides the build-up to Revenge of the Sith, I'm kind of hoping the timeline intersects with the movie. I would like to see how everyone else handled the purge during the events of the film outside of what we saw.
With Star Wars Resistance ending this weekend and The Clone Wars coming in February, Lucasfilm once again has a void to fill when it comes to animated shows. Hopefully they up the quality this time around. I mean, people were already complaining about Rebels, but the art style for Resistance was very hard to swallow. If you ask me, they should go the 2D route and bring us something close to Avatar: The Legend of Korra. Do you think Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko would like to work on Star Wars?
Catch the final season of Clone Wars when it airs Feb. 21 on Disney+.
