Sister Wives star Kody Brown has been in a polygamous marriage for years, but two of his wives have already left him. Will he still be able to maintain their family structure when he, himself, doesn't want to have a relationship with one of his two remaining wives?

Sister Wives Stars Kody Brown And Janelle Brown Announce Split Nearly 2 Years After His Separation From Christine

In November 2020, Kody Brown and Christine Brown announced their separation after 25 years of marriage. They tied the knot in a "spiritual marriage."

Christine's departure from the polygamous family left a mark. She maintained a close bond with her sister wife, Janelle.

On Sunday, Janelle seemed to have followed Christine's steps. Kody and Janelle announced that they have been separated for a couple of months already.

"We've been separated for several months," Janelle said in Sister Wives: One-on-One special, Us Weekly reported.

"Yes, we are separated," Kody confirmed.

Janelle Questioned Her Future With Kody After Christine Left The Family

Hours before they confirmed their separation, Janelle gave her sister wife, Christine, a shoutout on social media. She created Christine's signature rolls for their Sunday dinner and even tagged Christine. Janelle is closest to Christine than to her other two sister wives, Meri and Robyn.

Janelle acknowledged the huge changes in the family after Christine left, making her question if their polygamous family would survive.

"I never thought that I would ever be in a place where I would be questioning my relationship, but the last few years, I began to wonder if we're compatible anymore," she later said in an interview, People reported. "Maybe this doesn't work anymore for me. I don't know."

Janelle continued,

"I just think we've never had divides this deep. Christine has left, and that's obviously [a] very, very big departure for what our family has looked like for many years. This is like the ultimate test of our family. Can we hold it together with all of this?"

Is Sister Wives Star Meri Brown Leaving Kody Brown Too, Since He Doesn't Want To Be In A Relationship With Her Anymore?

Sister Wives fans are wondering if Meri is the next one to leave Kody. It's not a secret that he is most devoted to his fourth wife, Robyn, and he has been distant from his first wife, Meri.

During Sunday's episode, Kody, Meri, Janelle and Robyn met to discuss their plans for their Coyote Pass property. The conversation then shifted to the family's complicated relationship.

"This last year and a half has really shattered what I thought our family was," said Robyn.

"The sense I've got is that we've failed with [my wife] Christine [Brown] leaving," Kody replied.

Robyn said that they are still around and they do not have to fail. "We need to fix it. We need to fix what the problems are," she added.

However, Kody was the first to suggest that not everyone wanted to build a strong family unit. He hinted that he no longer wanted to have a relationship with his first wife, Meri.

In a confession, he confirmed that he didn't want to be with Meri.

"Ironically, Meri's trying to support me and I don't want to be in a relationship with her anymore," Kody said.

Meanwhile, Meri said it was not "fair" for Kody to assume "what everybody thinks or feels."

"It's interesting hearing him talk about this and the parallels that is happening with him and Christine and me and him. It's kind of disturbing because some of the things he's frustrated about with Christine, he did to me. Oh, he wants to work on it with Christine but not me," Meri said.

Robyn asked her sister wives if they were "tired of trying" and didn't want to "work it out."

Apparently, Meri is still keen on keeping the polygamous family.

"Robyn, I think that you and I have had enough conversations about this that you know exactly where I am and I am still here because I'm still trying," she said. "Six years later, I'm still here. Ten years, 15 years, 20 years later, I'm still here. It's what I want."

Will Meri be able to maintain her marriage with Kody, or will she also leave him just like what Janelle and Christine did? What will happen to the polygamous family if Kody will only be left with one wife, Robyn?

Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
