Who Is Shakugan in Sengoku Youko?
Shakugan is a spiritually enhanced human who became an experimental super soldier for the Dangaisyuu after Yazen bought her from her father.
Her real name is Shakuyaku, but she has since referred to herself as Shakugan after accepting the katawara called Kagan inside her body.
She can expertly coordinate her human and katawara wills while maintaining her spiritual balance.

What Happened in Sengoku Youko Episode 7?
Shakugan and the others are staying in Rock Village to care for the pregnant lady Jinka encountered somewhere in the area.
Shakugan is excited to see through the lady’s pregnancy, as are Jinka, Tama, Shinsuke, and the rest of the katawara in the village.
In return, the pregnant lady decides to honor Shakugan and the others by naming her baby Shakuyaku if it’s a girl or Kagan if it’s a boy, as Jinka suggested.
As the pregnant lady goes into labor, Douren and Resshin arrive in the village to kill Jinka.
Jinka engages in an intense fight with Douren, while Resshin deals with Shakugan and Shinsuke.
Tama, on the other hand, stayed behind with the pregnant lady in a hut behind the battlefield.
Resshin uses his talisman to get a huge boulder rolling directly to the hut where Tama and the pregnant lady are, while Jinka is busy with Douren.
Shakugan has no choice but to stop the boulder herself, even at the cost of her life. She turned into a rock to stop the boulder from flattening Tama, the pregnant lady, and her newborn twins.

So, Is Shakugan Dead in Sengoku Youko?
The elder of the Rock Village reveals that Shakugan is still alive in Sengoku Youko. Shakugan is merely sleeping after using almost all of her spiritual energy to change into a rock.
In 100 or 1,000 years, there’s a chance that Shakugan will open her eyes again and change into her human form. She can do this if she focuses her spiritual energy on the earth.
However, Shakugan can also opt not to wake up again. It’s up to Shakugan to decide whether she’ll come back or not in the series.
