After chapter one of Boruto was released, fans saw a foretold version of the future wherein the Leaf Village was in destruction and Naruto seemed to have “died”. It also signified that the peaceful world he created was no longer there.
But since chapter one only showed a brief part of the future, a lot of fans have been debating whether Naruto really died or not. There are also fans who believe that even if the current Hokage died, there might be a way he could be revived like what happened to Gaara in the Naruto series. But before we go on what fans think, we should answer first if Naruto is dead in the Boruto series.
Is Naruto Dead in Boruto Explained
As of episode 207 and chapter 59 of Boruto, Naruto is still alive. A lot of things did happen along the way, but as far as the question is concerned, the Hokage is not dead. One of the big events that happened in the manga was Kurama’s death in Chapter 55.
The entire Naruto fandom was definitely not happy with the sudden turn of events. Unfortunately, the nine-tailed fox died after Naruto and Kurama used the Baryon mode to fight against Isshiki Ohtsutsuki. The new mode required excessive use of chakra that took the life of Kurama.
The situation was intense as Kurama knew that everyone would die if they did not use the Baryon mode. He lied to Naruto about the consequence of using the Baryon mode because if he did tell Naruto the truth, he knew that the Hokage will not use the said mode.
The anime also showed that Naruto and Sasuke are facing strong villains in the series. One of them is Jigen on episode 204. There was even a scene wherein Naruto got trapped in Jigen’s coffin. The battle ends with Jigen teleporting back to his territory after losing a lot of energy.
It seems like the future that fans have seen during the first chapter is still far from where the manga and anime are but fans will have to look out for what’s going to happen in the series to understand how everything was led to that point and if Naruto will really die.
