The highest-grossing anime and Japan film of all time, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train is a must-watch movie for anime fans. It earned the title of highest-grossing R-rated animated film of all time and other awards after reaching more than $400 million worldwide box office proceeds.
It was no longer a surprise that the Ufotable Production Team and Yuma Takahashi, producer of Demon Slayer, decided to work together after the success of Demon Slayer Season 1. They believe that this arc of the series is best shown through a film because of its content. The movie was distributed by Toho and Aniplex in Japan and later on, Aniplex of America and Funimation Films released it in Canada and the United States.
Is Mugen Train on Crunchyroll? Where to Watch the Demon Slayer Movie
Although Mugen Train is available in cinemas (including 4DX and IMAX theaters) in the United States, Canada, and Australia, among others, fans also have the option to watch the movie at home. Unfortunately, as of this writing, Crunchyroll is not offering the movie yet. We still don't know if the streaming site has plans but fans will have to wait for further announcements. Even other sites that offered season 1 like Funimation and Hulu do not have the movie yet.
While waiting for streaming sites, other than Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu, to release the movie, fans have the option to anticipate it on Amazon, PlayStation Store, Vudu, and Apple TV according to the official Demon Slayer anime website. The digital release on these platforms is on June 22, 2021. The pre-order started on April 26, 2021.
As for season 2, there is still no official date of release although fans can anticipate it within the year. It has been confirmed earlier this year that the second season will cover the Red Light District Arc, which is also the eighth arc of the manga.
