Lovelyz may be the next K-pop girl group to disband as member Seo Ji Soo narrated the heartbreaking fate they went through.
Woolim Entertainment put the spotlight on Lovelyz for the last time last year, giving them a comeback for their seventh EP, Unforgettable. The girl group also dropped their lead single Obliviate, which scored first on SBS MTV's The Show.
Over a year since Lovelyz hit the stage for the last time, the girl group members reportedly made a move to make their return happen. However, they may soon disband instead.
Lovelyz Disbandment 2021: Is The Woolim Entertainment Girl Group Breaking Up?
Lovelyz's fans have not heard anything about the group's comeback in the past months. But recently, member Seo Ji Soo braved everything and revealed their concerns to their fans.
Seo Ji Soo started a voice-only broadcast on V Live and talked candidly to their fans on Tuesday. What was supposed to be a light get-together turned emotional when the K-pop idol opened up about the group.
According to the idol, she filmed a blog since it has been a long time since the fans could see them. However, she could not tell when it would be uploaded as there are only a few people in the editing department at the moment. She even assumed that it might be out once people forget she ever mentioned it.
This caused fans to ask why Lovelyz has not made a comeback yet, and Seo Ji Soo then shared her disappointment cautiously.

The idol revealed that all members tried everything they could to release an album again. They talked to the agency as well. Seo Ji Soo insisted that they did not hold back in expressing their desire to perform again.
However, as they continue to be shrugged and set aside, Lovelyz members reportedly feel frustrated with what is happening and sorry for their fans.
"I just want you all to know that we aren't just waiting around without taking action. I know that you are having a hard time. It must be frustrating, but right now, it's not a situation where we can speak up too frankly," she went on.
Her statement eventually led the fans to speculate about the potential of Lovelyz's disbandment this year. Seo Ji Soo's statement is also one of the few cryptic messages the members let go of.
Other Lovelyz Members Start Trying Different Things
Before Seo Ji Soo held the V Live broadcast, one of the Lovelyz members also hinted at the group's impending split.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, Jin expressed her sadness after unwillingly forgetting her profession. Instead of dancing and singing with the group, she became a food vlogger and shared her recent outings.
Aside from Lovelyz, Woolim Entertainment's boy group INFINITE also wishes to make a comeback soon. As of the writing, only four members — Sunggyu, Dongwoo, Sungyeol, and Sungjong — are available to record a new album as the other member, Woohyun, currently serves his mandatory military service. Meanwhile, L left the agency while Hoya formally departed from the group.
