The whole K-pop industry was in a craze when news reports revealed that Girls' Generation will appear at an entertainment program with all eight members. South Korea's greatest girl group had released its 6th studio album Holiday in 2017 and the members have since gone on an indefinite hiatus after the promotional activities for the album.
Four years have passed and global fans have not seen any Girls' Generation group comeback, especially that Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Seohyun did not renew their contracts with SM Entertainment and had focused on their solo music careers and acting projects.
While Taeyeon, Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Yoona renewed their contracts with SM Entertainment in September 2020, it was still hard to assume group activities until the news that Girls' Generation will have a guesting at the tvN entertainment program You Quiz On The Block.

It is with no doubt that Girls' Generation showed strong careers and that they are the irrefutable rulers of K-pop who continue to captivate not only South Korea but the world.
During the interview in You Quiz On The Block, Girls' Generation has accepted the idea of returning as a whole group. The girls say they are open to doing promotion as a group and even agreed with the host Yoo Jae Suk's suggestion that they may do something special for their 15th anniversary which will be next year, August 5, 2022.

Girls' Generation define what the members mean to them
Girls' Generation's appearance at an entertainment program as a whole group has brought tears and nostalgia to many fans and even had the hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho emotional.
During the interview with the legendary girl group, they were asked to describe what the members of Girls' Generation mean to them.
Sooyoung says she often thought that Girls' Generation is like a mirror to her, while Seohyun says the group is an existence that she cannot separate from herself no matter what happens.
Yoona, who is now active as an actress, described Girls' Generation as her youth. Because the members debuted at an early age, they weren't able to experience what normal teenagers do. Instead of playing and having fun outside, they were busy practicing inside studios and attending vocal and dancing lessons in preparation for their debut.

Yuri says Girls' Generation has helped her to be reborn and exist as herself. She also described the group as her hometown in which she comes from and will always return. Sunny expresses that she is most thankful to Girls' Generation, while Hyoyeon says the group is a single ray of light that beams into her life.
EXO Baekhyun's ex-girlfriend Taeyeon then compares Girls' Generation to her country, South Korea. "Girls' Generation is my nation. Our athletes compete in the Olympics wearing our Korean flag. Like that, I take pride in Girls' Generation and I do my solo activities with the thought of being a representative of the group."
