Celine Dion shockingly announced that she is postponing her next concerts due to chronic health issues and a new diagnosis.

Fox News reported that the 54-year-old Canadian singer would postpone or cancel upcoming performances because she was diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome.

SPS is an uncommon autoimmune movement disorder that affects the brain, spinal cord, and central nervous system.

In a heartbreaking Instagram post, the "My Heart Will Go On" singer said that she had been facing health concerns for a very long time and that it had been tough for her to confront them and discuss what she had been through.

Celine Dion, in the caption, furthered:

"It hurts me to tell you that I won't be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February."

The French-speaking singer also replied to the revelation in a video, explaining that while she is still learning about the rare illness, they know it has been the cause of her recent spasms.

It is claimed that her entire life is affected by the aforementioned spasms, which make it hard for her to move and even use her vocal cords to sing, for which she is renowned.

The "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" songstress disclosed to her fans that she has been working hard with a sports medicine therapist to strengthen herself but admitted that it has not always been easy.

Celine Dion added:

"All I know is singing it's what I've done all my life and its what I love to do the most."

There is no known therapy for Stiff-Person Syndrome, which is said to cause people to become "human statues" as their bodies become progressively rigid.

In addition, as this disease advances, muscle spasms and fluctuating stiffness develop. The intensity and progression of SPS may vary from person to person, although symptoms often arise over a period of months and may be stable for years or deteriorate progressively.

According to AmeriPharma Specialty, the life expectancy of a patient with Stiff-Person Syndrome ranges from 6 to 28 years from the onset of the condition.

According to The List, Celine Dion performed 714 shows at her first Las Vegas residency between 2003 and 2007, generating approximately $385 million from ticket sales of nearly two million.
