After several delays, director John Krasinski has finally provided a major update on the highly anticipated A Quiet Place Part III.
It was in July 2021 when Emily Blunt, who is set to reprise her role as Evelyn Abbott, confirmed that her husband would be working on a third film in the post-apocalyptic horror franchise.
So, nearly five years after Blunt’s announcement, is A Quiet Place Part III finally moving forward?
Will there be A Quiet Place Part III?
It looks like A Quiet Place Part III will finally see the light of day after John Krasinski, who also serves as a co-star, co-writer, and co-producer for the franchise, revealed major progress on the film.
In a post on Instagram, the Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan star confirmed that the sequel’s production is already underway in New York City.
“Here we go! #Part III,” he captioned his snap featuring a clapperboard with his name and the movie’s title.
True enough, the cameras started rolling after Krasinski also told Collider that it would begin “one week from today” on May 5, 2026, while talking about his new film, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War.
“We start filming one week from today, and this is how nervous and stressed out I am,” he said.
He also called Ghost War a great distraction for keeping him busy before doing A Quiet Place Part III.
"So I'm glad to be distracted because, yeah, it's a lot. We're so excited,” he added.
What is A Quiet Place Part III About?

Details about A Quiet Place Part III remain under wraps, with only production information revealed so far.
A Quiet Place Part II ended on a hopeful note as Regan, played by Millicent Simmonds, used the deafening high-frequency feedback from her hearing aid to weaken a creature at a radio station. Meanwhile, Marcus, portrayed by Noah Jupe, also managed to kill another creature at their hideout using the same broadcast signal.
Originally intended to be a trilogy, the story of the Abbott family is expected to conclude with humanity finally finding a possible way to fight back against the alien invasion. However, by the looks of it, the new movie may also explore the next steps in the survivors’ journey, reveal more about the aliens that have taken over their world, and introduce connections with other survivors.
John Krasinski previously admitted that he found it difficult to end the Abbotts’ storyline naturally after the success of the first two films, though he now seems confident about the direction of the third installment.
“This was always seen as a trilogy in my head. I just wanted to figure it out in an organic way, and I think we have,” he said.
It is also worth noting that the third movie could connect to A Quiet Place: Day One, the prequel that explored the early days of the alien invasion, especially Djimon Hounsou’s character, Henri, who notably appeared in both A Quiet Place Part II and A Quiet Place: Day One.
A Quiet Place Part III is scheduled to hit theaters on July 30, 2027.
