Iron Man May Be the Only Avenger Without a Replacement in Phase 4 of MCU

Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) might have been considered by Marvel fans as one of the figureheads of the Avengers, however, it seems like Tony Stark is the only member of the original six who has yet to have an official replacement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Interestingly enough, while the rest of the original six already have potential replacements set aside for them, Marvel has yet to announce a successor to its most popular hero. Screen Rant points this out in a brand new report jotting down the Marvel Cinematic Universe's replacements for Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johanssen), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and of course, the Hulk (Bruce Banner).

Marvel has actively been setting up the replacements for these heroes. Captain America passed down his shield to Falcon in Avengers: Endgame, and now everyone's eager to see whether or not Sam Wilson will take on the mantle in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The studio may have yet to confirm the reports, but fans all assume that Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova is going to take over Natasha Romanoff's place as Marvel's Black Widow. Bruce Banner is potentially going to be replaced by his cousin, Jennifer Walters, as Hulk. Clint Barton is expected to pass on the mantle to Kate Bishop in the upcoming Hawkeye series.

Even though Thor is getting a fourth movie in the MCU, Marvel is planning to reintroduce Natalie Portman's Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor of Marvel.

So what about Iron Man? Where is his replacement? Is Marvel too scared of replacing such a charismatic hero? Or does the studio have greater plans for Iron Man 2.0? Will Tony be succeeded by his daughter, or by Riri Williams?

Let's wait and see.
