Injustice Writer Returns to DC for DCeased

After numerous teases, DC Comics has finally unveiled new details on DCeased, a new event from Injustice and X-Men: Red writer Tom Taylor. This is his first event for the company and it sounds like one of the most brutal stories that will ever be told if the series' name wasn't a big clue. In fact, this could be more brutal than Injustice, which is saying A LOT when you consider all of the deaths that have happened in that series.

Here's the intense summary of this series from DC Comics (via ComicBook.com):

"A mysterious techno-virus has been released on Earth, infecting 600 million people and turning them instantly into violent, monstrous engines of destruction.
The heroes of the DCU are caught completely unprepared for a pandemic of this magnitude and struggle to save their loved ones first...but what happens to the World's Greatest Heroes if the world ends?
New York Times best-selling writer Tom Taylor (Injustice) returns with a terrifying new tale and is joined by artist Trevor Hairsine (Legends of the Dark Knight) and Stefano Gaudiano (The Walking Dead)."

Prior to the official announcement, Taylor had been teasing the series on social media with images of Hairsine's art and cryptic teases like "Darkseid was…" so that is saying a lot. It's not yet known how canon the overall series will be with the current DCU but we're all hoping that this will be a good event.
