DC Celebrates 'Year of the Villain' This May With Special 25-Cent One-Shot

It might be Year of the Pig right now but it looks like DC is gearing up for something much bigger than that. The company has announced DC's Year of the Villain, a special one-shot that will tease a number of big plot points that will be happening later this year. This one-shot will have stories that set up big arcs for Justice League, Superman, and Batman Who Laughs, along with a huge preview of a new story called Cityof Bane.

Fans will be happy to hear that the comic will only be 25-cents, similar to a one-shot that came out last year that also came from DC. Just like the one-shot last year, this comic will feature new stories from superstar writers like Brian Michael Bendis, Scott Snyder, and James Tynion IV. In addition to that, the City of Bane preview will be done by current Batman scribe Tom King.

The 32-page DC's Year of the Villain will be released May 1, ahead of that weekend's Free Comic Book Day celebrations in participating comic book stores. The main cover for the issue comes from Dark Nights: Metal artist Greg Capullo, with variant covers available by Maleev, Cheung and Stanley "Artgerm" Lau, each spotlighting a different DC bad guy.
