While fans are looking forward to the new Injustice 2 characters from Fighter Pack 2, a lot of them don't like Raiden's new character design. The character looks drastically different from his regular form, with only his hat and lightning powers bearing any resemblance to his original design.
The Mortal Kombat character was redesigned by DC Comics head Jim Lee, who also redesigned Scorpion in the first Injustice game. He showed off the new character redesign on his Instagram, but was greeted by a ton of negative comments from unsatisfied fans. Some of them are pretty brutal to the artist, which is a shame since he is quite talented, but this redesign of Raiden isn't his best work.
"Not gonna lie, it looks like a highschool student drew this," said user zachchen888. According to bar_dd "Static would have been a much better choice…" referring to the DC/Milestone superhero Static Shock. It's clear that the design is not a popular one, so here is hoping NetherRealm Studios adds plenty of gear that alters the look of Raiden.
Injustice 2 is available now on the PS4 and Xbox One. Black Manta will be available in September, while Raiden and Hellboy don't have release dates as of this writing.
