In the Land of Leadale premiered last week, and, in true isekai fashion, it has already transported its main character into a magical world. With less than 7/10 on MyAnimeList, In the Land of Leadale can't boast instant fame, which is to be expected given the tired isekai formula.

In the Land of Leadale: First Impressions
In the Land of Leadale follows a girl named Keina, who is on life support after being involved in an accident. Keina finds solace in an RPG game that takes her to the fictional world of Leadale. When a power outage shuts down her life support, killing her, she wakes up in Leadale, in the body of her avatar. Now a half-elf named Cayna, the protagonist is excited to explore her favorite world.
However, she soon finds out that the world she now inhabits isn't the Leadale she remembered. Many years have passed and the once flourishing world is very different from the Leadale she remembered.
While nothing groundbreaking, the premiere of In the Land of Leadale might be enjoyable to hardcore isekai fans. The protagonist, voiced by Yukimura Eri, is bubbly and pleasant. The bright color palette of Leadale makes for a dreamy, relaxing experience.
Of course, it should be noted that, like many anime, In the Land of Leadale is doing disabled viewers a disservice. There's an inherently ableist element in many isekai works, in particular, as the main characters turn to die and get reincarnated as flawless versions of their past selves. Never have we seen a character with a severe disability or just a visible handicap get reincarnated with this part of their identity still there. Keina's past self dies before her disability can even be discussed in any meaningful way, and it's unlikely to be brought up again, leaving a bitter taste for those who would like to see more realistic experiences depicted.
Other than that, the first episode was mostly enjoyable. Nothing is unseen or unheard of before, but there's comfort in tropes, so, if you're looking for something fun and stress-free, you might want to give Leadale a go.
