In the Land of Leadale follows Keina, who spent years in life support following an accident. When a power outrage causes her life support to stop functioning, Keina dies, only to find herself in the land of Leadale, the fictional world where her favorite RPG game unfolded. Now in the body of her avatar, she starts her new life as an elf mage, Cayna.
But the more she explores Leadale, the more Cayna finds out that it isn't the land she remembers. Having been abandoned by admins, Leadale has been devastated by war, and it's no longer a flourishing land. Moreover, Cayna learns that she has three adopted children whom she now meets in person.
Is In the Land of Leadale Based on a Manga or Light Novel?
As is the case with nearly every isekai out there, In the Land of Leadale is based on a light novel.
First released in 2010, the novel series is written by Ceez and illustrated by Tenmaso. Initially, it appeared in the user-generated novel-publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō before being acquired by Enterbrain and collected into six volumes.
The light novel was the followed by a manga series illustrated by Dashio Tsukimi and composed by Ryō Suzukaze.
Are the In the Land of Leadale Light Novel and Manga Complete or Ongoing?
The original run for light novel series of In the Land of Leadale was between 2010 and 2012 when serialization was completed. The manga, on the other hand, only counts three volumes so far, and it is currently ongoing.
With the source material already finished, though, we can be confident that an ending for the manga is possible in the near future, while a satisfying ending for the 12-episode anime is also likely.
