Ms. Marvel's finale episode is getting a ton of reaction from the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom, especially after the massive tease regarding Kamala Khan's true origins and how she got her powers. The finale might have retconned the character as a mutant and it's a revelation nobody saw coming. Now, actress Iman Vellani is breaking her silence on that massive shocker.

Speaking with Marvel, Iman revealed her initial reaction after finding out that Kamala will be retconned from an Inhuman to a mutant. Surprisingly enough, despite being a purist fan of the Ms. Marvel comics, Vellani wasn't mad about her character's origin story being altered.

She said: "They sent me, and only me, the draft [of the final episode], and I immediately freaked out… I emailed Kevin Feige in all caps. I was like, are you doing this like for real? Are you sure? I'm so honored! I was like yelling at him through an email. I was freaking out. This is the biggest deal in the world, and the fact that it's happening in our show is crazy."

The jaw-dropping twist is causing quite a debacle amongst fans of the MCU but this isn't the first time Marvel Studios has decided to retcon their character's origins. If you may recall, when Wanda and Pietro Maximoff first joined the franchise, there was no mention of them being part of the mutant race, and instead, it was explained that their abilities come from the mind stone.

Of course, there's still a good chance that Kamala Khan will eventually be retconned back into being an Inhuman and for all we know, this whole mutant twist is probably just a diversion on the studio's part.
