Hugh Jackman May be Done, but Logan Lives On

Logan is the final movie in which Hugh Jackman will be taking up his adamantium claws to portray the rugged and central mutant of the X-Men.

And even when he admits that this will be his last run as the known mutant in the team, Jackman admitted to New York Times that it will be a character that will be missed on his part:

‘I'm uncomfortable saying goodbye."

Of course, we can partly understand where he's coming from. It's almost hard to imagine anyone else taking up the adamantium claws again, even in an industry where reboots are very likely to happen once an actor says goodbye to a role.

For him, however, filming Logan had given him that sense of completion despite a couple of setbacks from previous films.

"There's been a gnawing turmoil that I hadn't really nailed it, fully—either story or performance or whatever. Every film I've ever done, I've had that gnawing doubt. But I have it way less in this one."

That's not to say that he doesn't acknowledge the possibility that someone could become Wolverine a.k.a. Logan in the future.

"The character will go on. Someone else will play it, for sure. Occasionally, you feel, hang on a minute—that's my role! Unless Daniel Day-Lewis plays him and wins the Oscar—then I might have a little problem."

The good thing about Jackman apart from his humor is that we can be assured that he brought everything for that final performance as the titular character in Logan.

Logan will be in theaters starting March 3. It's directed by James Mangold and stars Jackman with Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Boyd Holbrook, and Stephen Merchant.
