Hugh Jackman Is Hoping That Wolverine Gets Recast

X-Men fans might not see any other Wolverine outside the one built by Hugh Jackman, but the Australian actor doesn't want the mutant's role in the franchise to end after ending his career as the clawed mutant in Logan.

Filled with gravitas and grit, Logan was the perfect swan song for Jackman, and while the film gave the perfect end to Wolverine, the X-Men star is perfectly fine with having the character being recast.

Sitting down with The Hollywood Reporter, Jackman openly welcomes the inevitability that someone else will pick up the mantle for Logan. It's impossible to keep Wolverine away from the big screen for too long.

"I know someone will," Jackman said. "I hope it will be recast."

Jackman also has no interest in working behind the camera in 20th Century Fox's newly-announced X-23 spinoff – though the Australian actor is keen on supporting Dafne Keen, the young Spanish-British actress who played the artificially-created clone in Logan.

"No, I won't be a producer on a Laura sequel," Jackman admitted. "But I will be lining up on the Thursday night at 10 p.m. to watch it though. She is just phenomenal."

Guess Jackman is really ready to leave the X-Men franchise behind and work on other Hollywood projects.

Logan is now available on Blu-Ray and Digital DVD.
