One of the things people enjoy about this animation is that it is a short and sweet retelling of Dr. Seuss' book. The movie featured the animation of Chuck Jones and the voice of Boris Karloff as both the narrator and the Grinch.

Those who grew up with this The Grinch version can remember Cindy Lou Who as a toddler who was "no more than two".

Another thing people recall with this version is that it was featured in Home Alone. Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin) watched the movie in the basement on his first day alone.

Directed by Ron Howard, the 2000 movie dives further into the reason why the Grinch (played by Jim Carrey) hates Christmas so much. Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! also takes away the idea that the Grinch is the villain in the story. Instead, it's a classic tale of a bullied boy who grew up with issues.

Another thing that makes this version different from the previous one is that Cindy Lou Who (played by Taylor Momsen) is actually older than two years old. In this iteration, she is actually an elementary school girl who helps the Grinch stand up to his bullies.
