How many seasons of Solo Leveling are there? Surprisingly, answering this isn’t straightforward, as it differs depending on the version of the story.
Unlike most of today’s popular anime, which are based on manga or light novels, Solo Leveling is based on a hit Korean webtoon.
Interestingly, the webtoon is also divided into seasons, which fans can read in their entirety. Meanwhile, the anime’s first season is still ongoing.
How Many Seasons of the Solo Leveling Anime Are There?
The Solo Leveling anime was announced back in July 2022, and it finally premiered in January 2024. It may have taken a year and a half, but the show has not disappointed so far thanks to its impressive animation.
Sadly, the show’s first season is confirmed to have only 12 episodes, and there’s currently no word yet on plans for a continuation.
Given its popularity though, it won’t be surprising if the anime gets renewed shortly after its finale.
As for which arcs will be covered, the anime will likely cover around 40 chapters given its pace. If this is the case, it will likely end in the Job Change arc.
Solo Leveling Webtoon Seasons, Explained
There’s no clear answer for the anime’s season number. What can be said for certain is that the Solo Leveling webtoon has two seasons.
Its first season began serialization in KakaoPage in March 2018, and it ran until March 2020. After a months-long break, the second season finally began in August 2020 and ended in March 2021.
The second season technically ended in chapter 179, though the story continued with the Academy arc, which added 21 new chapters.
After this, the webtoon has effectively been finished, and there seem to be no plans for a continuation.

How Many Seasons Will the Solo Leveling Anime Have? Our Predictions
As the webtoon is finished, the anime will likely tell Sung Jin-Woo’s complete story. If that does happen, it will likely need four seasons to reach the end. That’s assuming each season is 12 episodes long.
This is based on the anime’s pace. If the pace continues like this, a second 12-episode season will likely be able to cover the events up to the Jeju Island arc.
Of course, it remains to be seen if that will be the case. It’s also possible that a second part of season 1 will be announced following its 12 episodes.
