How I Met Your Father Season 2: Josh Radnor Hints at Possible Appearance as Ted Mosby

With the appearance of the original How I Met Your Mother characters in How I Met Your Father, will fans see Josh Radnor reprising his role as Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Father Season 2?

Fans saw Cobie Mulders as Robin Sccherbatsky in the show’s previous season finale, hyping up the possibility of other original characters’ return. Now, Radnor addresses the likelihood of it in How I Met Your Father Season 2.

Josh Radnor Addresses Possible Appearance in How I Met Your Father Season 2

In an interview with Newsweek to promote his role in the upcoming Hunters Season 2, Radnor revealed if he would be open to making a brief cameo in the second season of the Hillary Duff-led series.

The catch? He’s actually exchanging emails with Duff about it.

“I had a really sweet email exchange with Hilary Duff. We kind of went back and forth about being the ‘I’ on How I Met Your dot dot dot,” he said. “[Hilary] has said publicly, she’d love to have me on, so I wouldn’t turn down an invitation.”

He also told Comicbook in another interview that he’s at the “mercy of other forces” to make the cameo.

"I don't know. I'm not in charge of those things. I'm at the mercy of other forces," he added. "We'll see how that goes."

Josh Radnor’s How I Met Your Mother Appearance

Radnor is one of the main cast of How I Met Your Mother, appearing in the full nine-season run.

When the show ended in 2014, the actor brought his great talents elsewhere—on the big screen and theatrical stage.

He was seen in the 2018 movie Social Animals and played the role of Seymour Krelborn in Little Shop of Horrors at the Kennedy Center in the same year.

Despite being away from the How I Met Your Mother world in the past eight years, Radnor revealed that he had kept communicating with some of the show’s staff, crew, and co-stars.

"[We talk] a little bit via text. I see Carter [Bays] and Craig [Thomas] who created the show," he stated. "Pam Fryman, our director, I grab a meal with her once or twice a year. The other ones are just the random kind of text. I ran into Jason [Segel] in Ojai last year. We had a good laugh."
