House of the Dragon Fans Unhappy About First Sunday Without a New Episode

It's a sad week for House of the Dragon fans after some spent an entire Sunday expecting a new episode of the Game of Thrones prequel. Unfortunately, the season finale had already aired on October 23 which meant that Season 1 is over. Needless to say, people were disappointed to remember that this is the first Sunday of several Sundays that they will not get to keep up with the Targaryens.

The first season of House of the Dragon premiered on August 21 and has consistently released a new episode every Sunday. Interestingly, the tenth episode The Black Queen was leaked only days before its premiere but that didn't stop millions of fans from watching the season finale on HBO and HBO Max.

It's clear that people were truly invested in House of the Dragon and their disappointment over not getting a new episode this Sunday is understandable.

The idea of Sundays without House of the Dragon is something that fans will have to get used to for a long time. It has already been confirmed that the series will not return until 2024. HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys pointed out that they will not rush production on House of the Dragon Season 2 so fans will need to wait two more years for the show's second season.

So what can we expect in House of the Dragon Season 2? The first season concluded with the tragic (and accidental) death of Lucerys Velaryon which will undoubtedly kickstart the Dance of the Dragons as Rhaenyra Targaryen goes after the usurping Greens who have placed her brother Aegon II Targaryen on the Iron Throne.

House of the Dragon Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
