House of the Dragon Episode 8 Teaser Confirms Another Time Jump

House of the Dragon is truly getting exciting as the Game of Thrones prequel begins inching towards the Dance of the Dragons that will pit the Targaryens against each other. But before we get to that, the House of the Dragon Episode 8 teaser confirms there will be at least one last time leap that will introduce the final actors who will take us into the fiery civil war.

The House of the Dragon Episode 8 preview was dropped right after this week's episode concluded and it opens with the shocking image of Otto Hightower sitting on the Iron Throne. It's not clear what had happened to King Viserys I Targaryen but the Hand claims that he is now speaking on the king's voice on an undisclosed matter.

Rhaenyra Targaryen is clearly not happy about this but this isn't the only thing she has to worry about. She points out that the Hightowers are going to land their first blow the next day. Rhaenyra adds that those vipers are ruling in her father's name so she and Daemon Targaryen decide to return to King's Landing.

What's interesting about the House of the Dragon Episode 8 teaser is how it shows Alicent Hightower's children have been aged up yet again, now as young adults while Rhaenyra's sons are finally teenagers. This could only mean that there will be another time leap in the upcoming episode. In addition to that, it means we're getting close to the Dance of the Dragons as the Greens and the Blacks begin their war.
