Fans are still reeling from the events in House of the Dragon Episode 7 but it looks like things are going to be more exciting next week. The new teaser for House of the Dragon Episode 8 confirms that the Greens and the Blacks are going up in arms against each other and the Hightowers are preparing to make a move against Rhaenyra Targaryen.
The House of the Dragon Episode 8 preview was dropped right after this week's episode concluded and it opens with Otto Hightower sitting on the Iron Throne. As shocking as this image is for viewers, Rhaenyra confirms that the Hightowers will land their first blow as we see Alicent Hightower with her children.
Although the teaser doesn't show it, there is a possibility that King Viserys I Targaryen might be too ill to come to the Iron Thrones. This is certainly an opportunity for the Greens considering that Otto is once again the Hand. However, Rhaenyra isn't backing down that easily.
Interestingly, the episode is titled The Lord of the Tides which is the title of the Lord of Driftmark. This strongly suggests that Corlys Velaryon will also be making a move in favor of the Blacks and we can't wait to see what will happen in House of the Dragon Episode 8.
The Blacks already had their own edge in Driftmark as Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen decide to get married to strengthen their alliance. To get Laenor Velaryon out of the way, Daemon pays Laenor's lover Ser Qarl to kill him. Instead of killing the King consort, Qarl burns a body which looks like Laenor while the both of them flee Driftmark
House of the Dragon Episode 7 is now available on HBO Max. House of the Dragon Episode 8 is titled The Lord of the Tides and will premiere on HBO on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
