House of the Dragon Episode 4 Reminds Fans It's A Game of Thrones Show

House of the Dragon is a Game of Thrones spin-off series. Sure, it has more dragons and sexy Targaryens than its predecessor but we've been seeing a lot of the former in the first three episodes. Not surprisingly, House of the Dragon Episode 4 finally delivers that good old GOT formula that made the HBO show so controversial when it was first released in 2011.

In House of the Dragon Episode 4, the weary Rhaenyra Targaryen has been looking for a potential partner but no one seems to please the princess' tastes. As she calls off her search to head home, her uncle Daemon Targaryen decides to head back to King's Landing to surrender the Stepstones and his crown as King of the Narrow Sea to King Viserys I Targaryen. At this point, we're pretty sure that things are about to get chaotic with the Rogue Prince around.

Daemon decides to take his niece out into the seedier parts of the city, sneaking her out dressed as a page as they get drunk and watch risque shows. They end up in a brothel where people are having sex in all corners and begin to feel kind of sexy themselves. However, Daemon backs away and leaves Rhaenyra, who isn't about to let the episode end without doing something risky.

While Rhaenyra seduces Ser Criston Cole, Alicent Hightower attends to her duties as the queen and has sex with Viserys. That's two sex scenes happening simultaneously in one episode.

Although Game of Thrones fans shouldn't be shocked considering we've seen A LOT WORST in the past, it's still a jarring reminder that House of the Dragon is that kind of show where young girls are having sex with much older men. Some of them are doing it for fun while others are doing it for duty.

If you're familiar with the source material, this isn't the most controversial thing we can expect in House of the Dragon just yet. Still, it's a great reminder that the series will occasionally make you clutch your pearls.

House of the Dragon Episode 4 is now available on HBO Max. House of the Dragon Episode 5 is titled We Light the Way and will premiere on HBO on Sunday, September 18, 2022.
