At this point, anything can happen in the highly anticipated Hobbs & Shaw. After all, the Fast and Furious spin-off film already features a cyborg villain played by Avengers: Infinity War's Idris Elba. So it shouldn't be much of a surprise if John Wick himself joins the mix, right? A new report has just revealed that Keanu Reeves could be taking on a surprise role in the Dwayne Johnson/Jason Statham movie.
According to That Hashtag Show, Hobbs & Shaw might be introducing Elba's Brixton as the main baddie but he is hardly the only one in the film. The report claims that Brixton could merely be a puppet to the real bad guy who will be played by Keanu Reeves.
It's certainly an interesting twist in the upcoming action film that is already putting the focus on Elba. Although Reeves is set to be the bigger threat in the movie, the report also states that he will not show up until the latter part of the flick. According to the outlet, it's also possible that the John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum star will be introduced in the post-credits scene that could set him up as the Big Bad in a sequel or even in Fast and Furious 9.
While we're eager to see Reeves back in action so soon after John Wick 3, his appearance in Hobbs & Shaw might not yet pan out. For now, we recommend taking this with a grain of salt.
The premise of Hobbs & Shaw reads as follows:
"Two years after the events of The Fate of the Furious, federal agent Luke Hobbs and former-British military turned mercenary Deckard Shaw, two men who dislike each other, are forced to team up to stop a new threat emerging from Brixton Lore, a cyber-genetically enhanced international terrorist."
Reeves returns in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, which hits theaters on May 17. Hobbs & Shaw is scheduled for release on August 2.
