His Dark Materials Reveals Iorik Byrnison, Daemons' Voice Actors

Have you been wondering how your favorite warrior polar bear will sound like in HBO's His Dark Materials series? The voice actors of Iorik Byrnison and the daemons have just been revealed.

The cast was announced on the official His Dark Materials Twitter account. Check out the tweets below.

Iorik Byrnison will be voiced by Joe Tandberg. In the books, Iorik plays an important role in Lyra Belacqua's story so there is little doubt that the series will put the focus on the powerful polar bear.

Kit Connor will proved the voice of Pantalaimon, Lyra's daemon who takes on several forms. Since Lyra has not yet reached puberty, "Pan" can still change forms often although the trailers have depicted him as an ermine.

Cristela Alonzo will lend her voice to Hester, the arctic hare who happens to be Lee Scoresby's daemon. Interestingly, Lin-Manuel Miranda has previously confirmed that his introduction will feature him singing a duet with Hester so be ready for a singing hare.

We have yet to see Kaisa, the daemon of the witch queen Serafina Pekkala but he will be voiced by David Suchet. Kaisa is a goose, as the daemon of witches are usually birds.

The Golden Monkey is the only daemon that doesn't talk but Brian Fisher will provide the monkey's animal noises. The nameless simian is the daemon of Marisa Coulter.

It was already confirmed that Helen McCrory will provide the voice of Stelmaria. She is a snow leopard who is the daemon of Lord Asriel.

His Dark Materials has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere on HBO later this year.
