There are high expectations surrounding High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 4 after rumors emerge that its storyline will feature the much-awaited High School Musical 4: The Reunion. Does this mean it will feature the original High School Musical stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens?
High School Musical 4: The Reunion is now being filmed at the real East High, and the original stars of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 4 will just be extras. With that said, many assume that the OG cast of the revival show will lead the fourth season.
Who Will be Part of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 4?
According to TVLine, it remains to be seen who among the original cast will join the series’ fourth season.
However, it may be safe to say that Corbin Bleu will return to reprise his role as himself with a little exaggeration.
“Corbin had such a good time this season, he said, ‘If you ever want me to come back, just know this has been so much fun,'” showrunner Tim Federle told the publication. “So that sort of inspired me to think, ‘What if our kids went back to school and had to be extras in a movie?’”

He even found the show “meta” and might turn into something like Christopher Nolan’s Inception.
“Our show is so absurdly meta, it’s just going to turn into Inception one day, he explained. “We’re really excited.”
Will Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens appear in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 4?
Rumors about Efron and Hudgens’ appearance on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 4 began when they individually posted their photos at the real East High on July 22 and June 26, respectively.

However, the said snaps were not taken when the new season was filming, so it had nothing to do with High School Musical 4: The Reunion.
Despite that, Federle remains open to the possibility that the two OG cast will join the series one day.
“I’m going to chalk that up to being a remarkable coincidence,” he said. “But we’d love to get Zac and Vanessa and all of them back, so we’re actively working on that right now.”
