Hideo Kojima Admits Summertime Rendering Obsession

We all know that feeling when you discover an old show that immediately captivates your imagination and keeps you hooked all the way till the final episode. That's exactly what Hideo Kojima is going through right now and the Metal Gear designer admits he is currently obsessed with Summertime Rendering.

Hideo Kojima recently tweeted about his latest discovery and the Death Stranding creator couldn't help but gush about the anime.

"I accidentally found Summer Time Rendering on Netflix, wow this is surprisingly good!" Kojima wrote. "Time loop x The Stolen City (Body Snatchers) in Wakayama version?!! Liked the character design, great script, drawings, directions!"

He also shared his thoughts about the character developments in the show.

"I thought it was such a joke when Ushio appears but this is so sick! Ushio is challenging us so bad! So funny! I can’t stop thinking about it! And Akio is in!!" he wrote.

Technically, Summer Time Rendering isn't that old since it was only released back in April 2022. Still, Hideo Kojima can't believe he didn't get to see the series when it first came out.

"Too late to notice? I’m sorry!! I watched up until Episode 10 tonight," he wrote.

It's not a huge surprise that Kojima can't get enough of Summer Time Rendering. After all, the series has a captivating storyline that sucks you in and makes you wonder how the protagonist can save the people on a Japanese island.

Summertime Rendering is based on the manga by Yasuki Tanaka which was originally serialized on Shonen Jump+ in 2017 (the manga concluded in 2021). The anime follows Shinpei Ajiro, who returns home to Hitogashima Island after the death of his childhood friend Ushio Kofune.

The death is only the beginning as Shinpei realizes he can jump back in time as he tries to find Ushio's murderer. But that's not even the weird part of the show.

Hideo Kojima is currently working on Death Stranding 2 which has not yet been given an official release date.
