Heroines Run the Show Episode 2 Recap
Heroines Run the Show is an original anime based on VOCALOID music by the virtual idol anime duo LIPxLIP. The show follows Hiyori Suzumi, a girl who leaves her rural hometown for the city to continue pursuing her dream career. But to do so, she needs a part-time job. Her job hunting leads her to become a manager for a boy idol group, who happen to be her classmates.
As it turns out, the group consists of Yuujirou Someya and Aizou Shibasaki, who are also her classmates! The school anime by studio Lay-duce follows her struggles as she balances life, school, and a part-time job working with her idol classmates!
In the second episode, both idol boys are very resistant when it comes to Hiyori's new post. Her attempts to make them open up or act more kindly fail, and, to be frank, the anime might become tiring if they continue being so unlikeable.
Thankfully, there's already some slight foreshadowing about the two male leads' hidden depths, as they seem to have chosen the idol - which they don't seem entirely suited for - to pursue genuine artistic dreams. If the relationship between art as an ideal, and life as a celebrity artist is explored, Heroines Run the Show has the potential to become truly intriguing.
For the time being. Hiyori is having trouble as their assistant manager, and none of her attempts to please them work. At least, she's determined to enjoy her busy high-school life, savor the little moments and make friends, even if her charges presently refuse to!
