Heroes Go Up Against Black Suit Superman in Set Photo for The CW's Elseworlds

The DCEU may be introducing an alternate universe with next year's Joker, but this December will see the Arrowverse deal with the multiverse via their Elseworlds crossover special. Alternate versions of heroes have been promised for the show, and we have a new set photo of the heroes going up against a black-suited Superman.

Check it out:

Interestingly enough, you can also see the classic Superman in the shot, and it looks like he's holding up some kind of ancient book. Besides that, we see Grant Gustin back in the Flash costume, and I'm assuming that's Stephen Amell back in his Green Arrow outfit.

With the multiverse being presented, I'm curious on what other alterations we're going to get with the superheroes. We don't know what's going to happen to Supergirl yet, but maybe the alternate version will be in cahoots with the black suit Superman. So far, we haven't seen any photos at all.

Besides all the usual heroes, the crossover event will also mark the debut of Ruby Rose as Batwoman. She'll be having her own series next year, but for now she's just going to guest-star in the show. Personally, I'm just curious on what other characters are going to have their own special alternate version.

The Elseworlds event will run for three nights, and will start with The Flash on Sunday Dec. 9, Arrow on Monday, then conclude with Supergirl on Tuesday.
